Berkata 'belum'

Untuk berkata belum dalam bahasa Inggeris, kita gunakan salah satu perkataan-perkataan berikut, bergantung kepada 'objek' ('I, you, singular, plural') dan 'masa' ('tense') :

'Has not'.
'Have not'.
'Had not'.

Perkataan-perkataan diatas digunakan dalam salah satu struktur berikut, bergantung kepada kesesuaiannya :

1. (Objek) + 'has not' + ('past participle')
2. (Objek) + 'have not' + ('past participle')
3. (Objek) + 'had not' + ('past participle')

1. Struktur : (Objek) + 'has not' + ('past participle')

Struktur ini berbentuk begini : (Objek) tertentu diikuti perkataan 'has not' diikuti dengan ('past participle') tertentu.

'Has not' biasa diringkaskan menjadi 'hasn't'.

Struktur ini digunakan bagi :

1. Objek : 'He, she, it, this, that' dan lain-lain 'singular'.
2. Masa : 'Present Perfect tense' (Dahulu hingga sekarang - hal belum itu ujud pada masa dahulu berlanjutan hingga sekarang).

Struktur ini berbentuk begini : (Objek) tertentu diikuti perkataan 'had not' diikuti dengan ('past participle') tertentu.

'Had not' biasa diringkaskan menjadi 'hadn't'.

Struktur ini digunakan bagi :

1. Objek : Semua objek iaitu 'I, he, she, it, this, that, singular, you, we, they, these, those, plural'.
2. Masa : 'Past Perfect tense' (dahulu hingga dahulu - hal belum itu ujud pada masa dahulu berlanjutan hingga ke satu masa dahulu juga) .
